The Ocotillo is a beautiful flowering plant, native to the deserts of northern Mexico and the southwestern USA. While not a cactus, they can survive long periods of time without water, grow 20 feet tall, and live up to 100 years. Wanting to capture the essence of the amazing Ocotillo, I photographed a series of images in and around Joshua Tree National Park, in Southern California. This long-exposure image under the Milky Way was one of my favourites!
