On an August night, during the peak of the annual Perseid Meteor Shower, I set out with my photography gear and an ambitious plan. I wanted to photograph a multi-panel stacked panorama to reveal, the Milky Way in as much detail as possible over the impressive Tantalus Range mountains, located a couple hours north of Vancouver, Canada. Using a 100mm lens, I shot 21 panels, which I later stitched into one super-panorama, seen here. For each panel, I stacked three 2-minute tracked exposures, a technique which reduces noise and increases detail. In total, the images captured total over 2 hours of exposure time. As I was photographing during the Perseid Meteor Shower, I was treated to a beautiful display of shooting stars as I stood in the dark, capturing the images.
