Over many years of exploring remote natural places in my home province of British Columbia, Canada, I've encountered many remarkable animals. However, I never would have imagined I would come to love Mountain Goats so much. Spending three nights camping in search of wild Mountain Goats in a remote mountain pass was undoubtedly one of the most incredible experiences I've had in nature. Usually a shy species, it was a privilege to be able to have a unique and intimate glimpse into their lives. Much better built for hiking than humans, I often found it impossible to walk on the same slopes where Mountain Goats moved with ease.
