After three days of waiting in a blind in the Ecuadorian Amazon, I was treated to the sight of hundreds of parakeets raining down onto the forest floor, to drink and eat nutrient rich water and clay. The parakeets require special nutrients to counteract the effects of acidic fruits that make up a large part of their diet. The show was over as quickly as it began, and I used a slow shutter speed to capture motion blur as parakeets took to the air, heading back to the canopy.
