Adult Sandhill Cranes can be up to 5 feet tall, but they all start out as tiny balls of fluff. When I got news that the Sandhill Cranes at a local refuge had hatched two colts, I went out as soon as I could to see and photograph them. I focused on capturing intimate moments as the parents fed their young.
