The Black Bear often has a a nasty reputation in society. However, I see them as fascinating, beautiful, and worthy of our utmost respect. Looking into the eyes of this bear, it's hard not to see and feel emotion reflected back. This image was taken from a vehicle as a Black Bear was on the move, briefly glancing in my direction. The bear was leaving the area where it was feeding on grass, due to the arrival of a larger bear on the scene. I photographed this with a telephoto lens to reveal the bears expression, and intricate details in its fur.
